About Me

Who is Bonnie Bee?

Bonnie Ballinger grew up in El Paso, Texas, and recently relocated to Wake Forest, North Carolina, with her family. A certified elementary school teacher and lifelong voracious reader, she has always had a sharp eye for detail and a natural ability to catch errors others miss.

As a busy wife and mom to Annalise and Andrew, Bonnie understands how valuable personal time is. Caring for her family and managing a lively household has taught her the importance of patience, reliability, and looking after others — qualities that naturally carry over into the way she cares for her clients.

Through Bonnie Bee Proofreading, she helps court reporters reclaim some of that time by providing dependable, detail-focused transcript proofreading. Coming from a family where all three siblings now work in proofreading, she likes to say she’s been training for this work her whole life.

My Support Team

Behind Bonnie Bee Proofreading is my biggest support system — my husband of 16 years, Steve; our two kids, Annalise and Andrew; Cody, our dog; Penny and Minnie, our cats; and even "Meat," Andrew's ball python snake.

If you have preferences or things I need to know, please communicate that as well. YOU are the boss, and things are always done your way.

Send me the fully scoped and spell-checked PDF transcript. A proofreader should only receive the final draft of your transcript.

I will confirm receipt and the delivery date via email.

If any rate changes are warranted after I begin work, I will let you know as soon as possible. You will not see any surprise charges on your invoice.

I will return the annotated pages of your transcript by 11:59pm on the agreed-upon date.

Rates

Turnaround times

The date of receipt does not count as one of the turnaround days. For example, a transcript received on Monday will be returned on Thursday for a 3-day turnaround. Turnarounds below include weekends, but Saturday and Sunday will count as 1 day. Transcripts can be returned by 11:59pm Eastern time on the agreed-upon date.

3-day Turnaround

$0.55 per page

2-day Turnaround

$0.75 per page

1-day Turnaround

$0.85 per page

Immediate Turnaround

$1.05 per page

*Note: Immediate Turnaround transcripts will be returned at a mutually agreed-upon time.

Bonnie Bee Proofreading Policies

Technical Transcripts

Transcripts with expert testimony and/or heavy jargon will incur an additional $0.10 per page as this requires additional research.

Additional Care and Editing

Transcripts requiring additional care in terms of heavy editing will incur an additional charge of $0.10 per page.

Heavy Colloquy

Transcrips consisting of heavy colloquy, such as hearings, voir dire, etc. will incur an additional charge of $0.10 per page.

Page/Rate Minimum Charge

If the invoice total for a job is under $15, that job will be charged at $15 total instead of the per-page rate.
